Whales at the peninsula Valdés

A young whale diving down. It seemed to be the better option for him at this moment...

A mother and her baby. If you look closely you might see that the child is sliding down to the right - what a great playground such a whale mother is... ;-)

And this is how close we actually got. Sometimes I really was afraid that they would turn over the little boat...

On the beach far above the ocean we found these shells embedded in the sand. Obviously the ocean must have been a lot higher once upon a time...

A view onto the Golf which was home to around 60 whales at the time of our visit. In the foreground again these shells, this time embedded in the rock.
