Let's Go Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia in English. Others are better - for sure. Maps are changing the orientation and some places or accomodations are described very badly.

top Places we went to top
Copacabana Quiet place on the shores of Lake Titicaca. This is from were lots of people visit the Isla del Sol
Isla del Sol An Island on Lake Titicaca with Inca ruins and the possibilty to trek a bit (only three hours across the island). The people were very friendly!
La Paz The political capital of the country. It has the biggest souvenir market in the country too. There are many places close by so one can visit them in a day. Some of the places are Valle de la Luna, Tiwanaku or as well riding down the most dangerous road in the world on a mountain bike....
Sorata A cosy little place in the mountains just 4 bus hours north of La Paz. A lot of treks start from here and Guides are available and necessary.
Camino del Oro A five day hike which brought us from Sorata to Chusi on the other side of the Cordillera Real. We passed a 4700m Pass and camped near villages. The trek on the other side got even tropical and very hot.
Guanay At the end of the trek - above we had to take a Pickup truck for 5 hours to get to the closest bus connection. This was Guanay and the Fiesta of the village was on at this very moment. It was Great! The Fiesta of the village is each year on the 8.August!
Oruro A mines town with a annual Carneval which is supposed to be great - but we missed it. But the food is great in this town and a good change from the greasy stuff of La Paz. The Lake Uru Uru is a nice trip out of town and it is possible to see Flamingos.
Cochabamba Here you find the biggest image of Jesus! Which is on a nice hill and a relaxing place. Well the 1399 steps are not to relaxing if you come on Mondays. The archelogical museum houses real good conserved mummies...
Mizque A small village near Cochabamba which has an anual Fiesta from 8.September to 15.September. We missed it thanks to our guide book. Bull fights are during this time daily! The parades on the following days are boring stuff...
Villa Tunari We were mainly busy to visit the park Inti Wara Yassi - an organisation which is reintegrating former pets back into the wild. It is very cool to have like four monkeys around you! And if you got lots of time it is possible to care for them too!
Sucre The constitutional capital of the country. Has lots of historic places in the city - well is World heritage site too. And a closeby market for artesanias is taking place every Sunday.
Potosi A minerstown and the highest town of the world. The mines still work and apparently they work like in the middle age. It is possible to visit them too. We prefered the mint Casa de la Moneda which is really interesting! The city houses lots of historic churches and the small streets have lots of old cosy looking houses.
Uyuni There is nothing to do or see in Uyuni. Just the nearby Salar de Uyuni and the Lagoons in the Southwest of Bolivia are great! Most tours start from here. You can cross to Chile as well with a tour.
Tupiza It is a nice quiet town. The people are very friendly. You can go from here via the Lagoons and the Salar de Uyuni to the town of Uyuni - for a few bugs more than the tour from Uyuni itself. But the area is beautiful itself. With red rock formation which can be explored by horse or mountainbike!

top Transportation top
We use mainly buses, micros or taxis. The quality of buses varies a lot! You can find Cama buses or stand on the back of Pickup trucks for quite a while. Taxis vary in price from city to city. Micros are mostly Bs.1 for a ride in the city.
